Mammography – Stereotactic Breast Biopsy

Stereotactic Breast Biopsy (SBB) procedures can be performed with a variety of systems. The traditional system is a SBB prone table. Additionally, many Mammography system manufactures offer a SBB add-on attachment for upright SBB. Most recently newer mammography systems are performing upright tomosynthesis SBB. Whichever system you are using, our Mammography Physicists are ready to help you with any questions that might arise. We have years of experience with all types of SBB systems.

While SBB does not fall under MQSA regulations, and is therefore not required to seek ACR Accreditiation, many facilities voluntarily seek Accreditation. Also, any facilities wishing to seek the ACR’s Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) or Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) designation must be SBB Accredited.
