Mammography – Accreditation

In 1992 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) passed the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) which regulates the clinical use of mammography. Under MQSA, all screening and diagnostic mammography units must be accredited by a FDA-approved body.

The board certified physicists at Radiation Services, Inc. are all FDA approved for mammography and have effectively supported hundreds of mammography units and facilities through ACR accreditation. We can help you through the whole process from acceptance testing to phantom collection and can provide guidance for all FDA/ACR issues that might arise.

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is currently accredited separately by the FDA through their MQSA Facility Certification Extension Program. Our board-certified physicists will help you navigate the process so that your facility can quickly become fully accredited.
